After a parliamentary discussion on Croatia's answers in Zagreb on
Tuesday, Minister Neven Mimica said that remarks of MPs were not
correct when they claimed that Croatia would not enter the EU as it
did not meet economic criteria.
He explained that macroeconomic criteria for EU membership were not
precisely defined, and that there was only one general criterion
saying that the economy of an EU member-state should be able to
resist the pressure of competition on the European market.
