Nine of Ela's classmates have been transferred to another class in
the same school, while 30 other have been temporarily transferred
by their parents to three other primary schools in Kutina. She has
been attending classes with only one pupil.
The councillors dismissed accusations that Kutina is an
undemocratic, intolerant and xenophobic town. They voiced their
sympathy for Ela, as well as with the parents of other school
children who they claim had been presented with an accomplished
fact when Ela enrolled the Kutina school two days before the start
of the school year.
The Ministry of Health and the Zagreb clinic for infectious
diseases "Fran Mihaljevic" this week organised a lecture on HIV for
about a hundred residents of Kutina.
