Finance Minister Dragan Vrankic explained the move of Croat
ministers by saying that "the voting on the adoption of the draft
law on veterans' rights should not have taken place today, but it
was and the Croat ministers were outvoted again".
He complained that similar situations had occurred in the past, but
said the Croats remained silent in order to avoid political
problems.
"We decided to walk out of the session so as to draw attention to the
failure to respect the constitution and the unfair treatment of
Croat ministers and officials," he said.
Asked by a reporter whether today's move of Croat ministers spelt
the end of the coalition of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and
the Bosnian Muslim Party of Democratic Action (SDA) in the
government of the Croat-Muslim Federation, Vrankic responded that
today's developments were not in favour of the coalition.
