in Belgrade on Wednesday morning for an official visit. #L#
This is the first official visit of a Croatian president to Serbia
and Montenegro.
Outside the Federation Palace, Mesic was welcomed by his host,
President of Serbia and Montenegro Svetozar Marovic, with full
state honours.
The purpose of the Croatian president's visit is to improve an
atmosphere for resolving the remaining open issues between the two
countries.
In addition to Marovic, Mesic is scheduled to meet Assembly
Chairman Dragoljub Micunovic, Acting President of Serbia Natasa
Micic and Prime Minister of Serbia Zoran Zivkovic.
The Croatian president is also due to meet representatives of the
Croatian community in Serbia and Montenegro.
Under discussion will be bilateral relations, integration into
Euro-Atlantic institutions, regional cooperation, and
international issues.
