national alliance in Zagreb on Saturday. #L#
The president of the Zagreb association, Dubravko Svedrec, was
elected president of the alliance. He said the establishment of the
national alliance was aimed at better helping war veterans and
their families.
An open letter to the government was read out at the founding
assembly. It included 10 questions, among them, why the government
allowed Veterans Affairs Minister Ivica Pancic to label disabled
veterans as fakes without any evidence, and questions about their
status and rights.
The participants in the assembly said it was a disgrace that nobody
from the war veterans affairs and defence ministries had attended,
despite invitations to do so.
