SFOR TROOPS SEIZE FOUR TONS OF WEAPONS IN PRIJEDOR AREA

BANJA LUKA, Sept 4 (Hina) - Stabilisation Force (SFOR) troops have discovered and disposed of a carefully concealed arsenal of weapons and ammunition east of Prijedor in the Serb entity of Bosnia- Herzegovina, the NATO-led peacekeeping force said in a statement on Thursday. #L# Acting on a tip from a local resident, British SFOR troops found 729 rifle and hand grenades, 334 missiles, 274 mortar shells and 21 other weapons. The weapons, weighing four tons, were found at two locations. During a search of a brick factory in Prijedor on Monday, SFOR troops discovered and seized two assault rifles, 1,000 bullets and six rifle magazines. The weapons and ammunition were in good condition and skilfully concealed inside the factory, the statement said. In the last four months, British SFOR troops have found about 25 tons of weapons and explosives in the Banja Luka and Prijedor areas. (hina) vm
