ZAGREB, Sept 1 (Hina) - Croatia exported US$3.5 billion and imported almost $8 billion worth of goods in this year's first seven months, which resulted in a foreign trade deficit of $4.47 billion, whereby exports covered only 44 percent of imports, according to the latest data from the Central Bureau of Statistics.
ZAGREB, Sept 1 (Hina) - Croatia exported US$3.5 billion and imported almost $8 billion worth of goods in this year's first seven months, which resulted in a foreign trade deficit of $4.47 billion, whereby exports covered only 44 percent of imports, according to the latest data from the Central Bureau of Statistics. #L# Expressed in US dollars, in the first seven months of this year, exports increased by 25.9 percent and imports by 33.2 percent in comparison to the same period last year. However, one should take into account significant fluctuations in the kuna-dollar ratio. During the first seven months this year, the dollar exchange rate dropped by 16 percent in relation to the kuna. In kuna terms, exports increased by 5.7 percent and imports by 11.8 percent compared to the first seven months of last year. Croatia's trade deficit in kuna was, therefore, 30.35 billion kuna (EUR4 billion). (hina) lml
