Banac recalled that since the beginning of July there was no waste
dump in Croatia that was in line with the law.
"It was a common practice to extend the possibility of legalising
waste dumps at the beginning of every July, but we have simply put an
end to that practice," Banac said, adding that his ministry wanted
to force local authorities to speed up plans to improve the
management of waste dumps.
He recalled that the ministry had devised a project for ten main
waste depots in the country, which should be implemented once
locations were chosen.
