In the past ten days, gangs of skinheads have reportedly beaten up
five foreign citizens, including an 11-year-old son of an Egyptian
Embassy official.
The SDP youth organisation issued a statement on Friday, demanding
that competent institutions take effective steps to identify the
assailants and prevent such types of delinquency.
"The Forum of the Youth of the Croatian Social Democrats advocates
the establishment of a democratic, open and tolerant society in
which diversity will not be something undesirable, but rather
something that will ennoble people," the statement said.
The young Social Liberals issued a statement on Thursday,
denouncing the assaults and urging competent institutions to
prevent such incidents. They apologised to the victims of the
attacks on behalf of all residents of Zagreb.
