The government's office for cooperation with the ICTY has received
the tribunal's request that Norac be questioned by investigators on
August 12-14 as a suspect for his role in military operations known
as the Medak Pocket and Storm.
The general has agreed to the interview, but has said he is not
guilty of crimes he is suspected of. His attorneys asked for the
interview to be postponed so they could make the necessary
preparations and obtain the documents required.
Norac has been in prison in Rijeka for two and a half years. In March
this year the Rijeka county court sentenced him to 12 years in
prison pending appeal for war crimes against Serb civilians in the
central town of Gospic in 1991.
