international peacekeeping mission in Kosovo got a new commander on

At a ceremony held in the U.S. military camp Bondstell near the city
of Urosevac, Beck succeeded General Daniel Keefe.
At the start of the mission of the Kosovo Force (KFOR) in June 1999,
some 50,000 foreign soldiers were deployed in the area. At the
moment, there are 23,000 international peacekeepers from 37
countries, 2,300 of whom are Americans.
