ZAGREB, July 24 (Hina) - Croatia's Association of Settlers has dismissed a statement by Bosnia's minister for human rights and refugees to the effect that refugee returns to Bosnia-Herzegovina were no longer a political but an
economic issue.

The Association said in a statement on Thursday it could not accept
Mirsad Kebo's claim because returnees encountered security and
political obstacles, especially in the Bosnian Serb entity.
"The very existence of a parastate established on ethnic cleansing
in which the power is in the hands of the same parties and people...
who caused persecutions, and in which the ideological leaders of
the persecution of Croats live freely, with the tacit protection of
the international community, essentially deny (Kebo's)
statement," said the Association.
It added that Kebo had no real influence in the Bosnian Serb entity
and that his statement, although well-meant, could not be taken
seriously.
