The European Commission is interested in the current situation in
the Croatian health care system. It wants to know how much of the GNP
is allocated for health care, how Croatia has legally regulated the
issue of medical products for human use, and to what extent it has
adjusted its regulations relating to medicines to European Union
standards.
There are also a number of questions related to other areas, such
the environment, agriculture, consumer protection, and freedom of
movement of goods and persons.
All important health institutions in the country, including
agencies for health insurance, public health, transfusion medicine
and protection against radiation, will be involved in the
preparation of the answers.
The commission must complete the project by August 22 August, when
all the answers must be sent to the Ministry of European
Integration.
