ZAGREB, July 13 (Hina) - Direct foreign investments in Croatia in the first three months of this year totalled 236.5 million US dollars. The value of investments made from 1993 to the end of March 2003 was almost $7.5 billion.
ZAGREB, July 13 (Hina) - Direct foreign investments in Croatia in
the first three months of this year totalled 236.5 million US
dollars. The value of investments made from 1993 to the end of March

According to data released by the Croatian National Bank,
investments from Austria accounted for 42.5 percent of all foreign
investments in the first quarter of this year. Austria with 23.6-
percent share in foreign investments in Croatia since 1993 is the
leading investor.
As regards the first quarter of the year, investors from France were
second-ranked with 11.4 percent, Dutch investments accounted for
11.2 percent and Luxembourg for 10.2 percent. The share of
investments from neighbouring Slovenia made up 6.6 percent of total
foreign investment in Croatia in said period.
The telecommunications sector received 18 percent of those
investments. The manufacturing of radio and television relays and
phones attracted 15.6 percent of the total investments. Of 237
million investments, 13.6 percent went to the crude petroleum and
natural gas extraction.
The value of the foreign investments in the first quarter of 2003
accounted for 0.9 percent of the projected Gross Domestic Product.
