ZAGREB, July 11 (Hina) - The Society of Vojvodina and Danube River
Region Croats and the Association of Croats Expelled from Srijem,
Backa and Banat pointed the finger at Croatia's labour and social
welfare ministry and Pension Insurance Bureau (HZMO) because 4,500
pensioners who earned their pensions in Serbia-Montenegro have
still not received their first payment from that country. #L#
In line with an agreement between the two states, Serbia-Montenegro
was to have started directly paying pensions to insurees in Croatia
on May 1, but they have still not received anything. The HZMO said
yesterday the first payments might be made only in mid-August.
With the application of the agreement, 4,500 elderly people are
without any source of income since May 1, when the labour and social
welfare ministry and the HZMO deleted them from HZMO records.
