ZAGREB, July 7 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Tonino Picula and Parliament Vice President Mato Arlovic on Monday separately received the outgoing head of the EU Monitoring Mission in Southeast Europe, Antoin Mac Unfraidh.

received the outgoing head of the EU Monitoring Mission in

Picula and Mac Unfraidh agreed significant progress had been made
in all countries in the region during the past two and a half years
of his mandate. They agreed Croatia had progressed the most, the
Croatian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The two officials stressed the need for the further strengthening
of cooperation in the region.
The parliament's public relations office said that during the talks
with Mac Undraidh, Arlovic spoke of recent elections for national
minority councils and a low turnout.
When it comes to national minorities, there are no open issues. All
issues have been regulated by the Constitution and the
Constitutional Law, Arlovic said. He added the Constitutional Law
on National Minorities includes proposals put forward by minority
representatives.
Mac Undraidh said there was an evident lack of cooperation on the
part of local authorities, despite significant efforts invested at
the national level in the domain of legislation, the statement said
