Veljko Ostojic, a member of the county government in charge of
tourism, expressed satisfaction with the master plan, which he said
for the first time incorporated all Istrian destinations, which was
one of the conditions for making Istria one of the leading
Mediterranean tourist regions.
The master plan was presented by Eulogio Bordas of THR, who
advocated creating a more favourable environment for investors.
He said that by 2010 Istria would be targeting middle- and high-
class guests and increase its accommodation capacity from 214,500
to 254,700 beds.
