BJELOVAR, June 28 (Hina) - "Czech Culture Days in Bjelovar" opened
in this northern Croatian town's main square on Friday evening with
a brass band concert, a performance by Czech majorettes, and the
screening of Jan Hrebak's film "We Must Help Each Other". #L#
The event continued on Saturday with a painting colony featuring
the works of artists from Virovitica, Zagreb, Daruvar, Rijeka, and
Bjelovar.
The event is the first such organised by Bjelovar's Czech
community, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary. Its
president Borislav Halupecky said Bjelovar had a Czech population
of about 500 and the entire Croatia about 10,000.
