The exhibition was organised by the Iranian Embassy in Zagreb,
Hamid Hajeb, the Behruz tepisi company from Zagreb and the Mimara
Museum. It is held under the auspices of the Croatian and Iranian
culture ministries.
Croatian Culture Minister Antun Vujic, who opened the event,
announced an imminent exhibition of Croatian sculptor Ivan Kozaric
in Tehran and an exhibition of the Iranian miniature in Zagreb.
Deputy Iranian Culture Minister Morteza Kazemi was especially
pleased that the event was attended by Milka Mesic, the wife of
Croatian President Stjepan Mesic, and the women's ensemble
"Naghme" from Tehran, which performed Iranian classical music and
folk songs.
The author of the exhibition is Anica Ribicic-Zupanic.
The richly ornamented rugs of excellent workmanship will be on
display until June 29.
