Conferring on Rossin the Order of Prince Branimir with the
necklace, Mesic said that during his mandate the ambassador had
contributed to the development of friendly relations and
cooperation between the two countries, as well as to Croatia's
making progress towards Euro-Atlantic associations.
Rossin said he was touched by the decoration which he had not
expected to receive. He pointed out that closeness with the USA and
the EU was Croatia's destiny. Misunderstandings in relations come
and go, the ambassador said, adding that the two countries shared
the same values.
The US Ambassador also met Sabor President Zlatko Tomcic.
