Speaking on relations between the United States and Europe at a news
conference on the occasion of Bank Austria Creditanstalt's
European Forum 2003, Kissinger said Kosovo's independence could
not be prevented.
This is not the official U.S. policy, he stressed.
Kosovo's independence will be the result of the current situation
which will be impossible to prevent, the former statesman said.
