The talks with Kosovo officials focused on the upcoming EU summit in
Salonika, scheduled for June 21. Solana said the summit was of great
importance for Kosovo because it created a possibility for dialogue
with all neighbours. He says the summit is an opportunity for the
countries in the region to draw closer to the European Union.
Kosovo officials agreed with Solana it was necessary that Kosovo
officials take part in the summit.
Solana, however, did not confirm the names of officials who would
represent Kosovo at the EU summit, but he expressed hope he would
see President Rugova in Salonika.
