attorney for General Ante Gotovina, whom the UN war crimes tribunal at The Hague (ICTY) indicted for war crimes, on Tuesday confirmed for Hina the authenticity of an interview with his client published in the latest issue of the Nacional weekly. "The interview is authentic," said lawyer Marijan Pedisic. In a brief statement, Gotovina's attorney expressed hope that the interview would contribute to solving the situation concerning his client, who has been at large since the ICTY issued an indictment against him in June 2001. The interview with Nacional's journalist and owner Ivo Pukanic is Gotovina's first public statement since the ICTY and Interpol issued a warrant for his arrest.
