More than 500,000 pilgrims greeted John Paul II along the roads he
travelled and at the services he celebrated on his third trip to
Croatia, the ministry's security headquarters estimated.
The ministry thanked citizens for their cooperation with the police
and other institutions, saying it contributed to making the pope's
sojourn safe.
The security headquarters commended all police who took part in
preparing and were in charge of security during the Holy Father's
visit, an operation dubbed Joy 100.
