ZAGREB, May 28 (Hina) - All party benches in the Croatian parliament on Wednesday endorsed a proposal by the parliament's Committee on Labour that the Law on Commerce be amended in urgent procedure to ban the sale of alcoholic
beverages to persons under the age of 18.

Warning about the harmful effects of alcoholism on the community,
family and working environment, committee chairwoman Snjezana Biga
Friganovic of the Social Democrats said there were around 300,000
alcoholics in the country, while at least three times as many people
from their environment were affected by their addiction.
