ZAGREB, May 27 (Hina) - The cause of the mass death of fish in the
Sava near Ivanic Grad is a lack of oxygen and high water
temperatures, which at some locations reach 25 degrees Celsius,
Croatia's chief water-quality inspector Zeljko Makvic said
Tuesday. He added fish were dying in Krapina River also. #L#
Makvic told Hina that the cause of the death was established by
experts of the state water board, Croatian Waters company and the
Water Supply and Drainage company after a detailed analysis of the
Sava River in the past week.
