ZAGREB, May 27 (Hina) - The parliamentary committee on interior affairs and national security on Tuesday issued a public announcement calling on institutions and renowned public figures to propose nominees for the chairperson and six
members of the council for civil control over security services, the Croatian parliament reported on Tuesday.

The duties of the council will be to check whether the activities of
security services are in compliance with law, to control measures
taken to secretly collect data limiting constitutional human
rights and basic freedoms, and improve regulations in connection
with the legality of the said services' activities.
