Speaking about the reduction of the armed forces, the union's
defence minister Boris Tadic said the army should be
professionalised and the duration of service could be shortened.
According to international standards, the army is expected to have
around 10,000 members and it currently has 78,000 members.
The Council declassified part of documents that are to be forwarded
to the National Council for Cooperation with the ICTY (The Hague-
based International Criminal Tribunal for former Yugoslavia) and
relieved of duty some generals active during the regime of Slobodan
Milosevic.
