million have been secured so far. If the state does not show more understanding, the historic visit of the pope to Osijek will be organised modestly, the city leadership says.
OSIJEK, April 28 (Hina) - Osijek City does not have sufficient funds
for organising the visit of Pope John Paul II, because out of the
necessary 74 million kuna (EUR9.8 million), only six million have
been secured so far. If the state does not show more understanding,
the historic visit of the pope to Osijek will be organised modestly,

The government and business people are urged to financially assist
the city in preparing the pope's visit.
