Protection of Market Competition, Hrvoje Momcinovic, tendered his
resignation on Thursday, Momcinovic's office has reported. #L#
Momcinovic's resignation came about after the government forwarded
into parliamentary procedure a final bill on consumer protection.
The bill envisages significant changes to the organisation of the
agency, as well as its supervising and decision-making body.
Under the bill, the agency would be managed by a market competition
council comprised of seven members who would be appointed and
relieved of duty by parliament, at the government's suggestion.
