ZAGREB, March 30 (Hina) - A Belgian who attended a match between Croatian and Belgian national teams in Zagreb on Saturday evening, fell from a stand of the Maksimir Stadium, and sustained serious injuries, the Zagreb police reported
last night.

According to the same source, this was a tragic accident.
Upon the end of the match, played within Group Eight qualifier for
Euro 2004 championship, Sandy Van Rosse, aged 36, lost his balance
and fell from the western side of the southern stand where there was
not fence. The fall was from the two to three metres of the height,
and the unlucky Belgian fan fell on the staircases. After that he
lost consciousness, and was taken to the KBC Rebro hospital in the
Croatian capital.
The attendance was some 18,000. The home team won the match with the
final result Croatia 4 Belgium 0.
