Milosevic, who is in The Hague standing trial for war crimes, and
his wife Mirjana Markovic are suspected of involvement in the
abduction and assassination of ex-Serbian President Ivan
Stambolic, who went missing in 2000.
Slava Djukic, a political analyst and eminent Serbian journalist,
told Belgrade's B92 television today Markovic might have been one
of the people who put a contract on Stambolic but that she could not
have done it without her husband knowing.
Serbia may have to face the fact that it was run by assassins for 12
years, he said.
