ZAGREB, March 27 (Hina) - Retired general Janko Bobetko will be examined by doctors before a decision is made on serving him with an indictment from the Hague tribunal to establish if his condition allows him to undergo the procedure,
Zagreb's county court said on Thursday.

The court's investigating judge has instructed experts with the
Zagreb Medical School to examine the 83-year-old Bobetko to see if
he is fit to be served with the indictment, the court said in a
statement.
Upon reception of experts' findings, the investigating judge will
decide as to acting on the Hague tribunal's order to serve Bobetko
with the indictment, the statement read.
The U.N. war crimes tribunal on March 19 forwarded an order to the
Croatian government to serve the indictment on Bobetko or his
attorney. The Hague would then withdraw an arrest and surrender
warrant for the former general. The tribunal has asked Croatia to
confirm the indictment has been served by April 4.
The Hague order was delivered to Zagreb county court investigating
judge Zoran Luburic, who last November received the tribunal's
first order for Bobetko's arrest.
The county court statement recalls that Bobetko was examined by
Medical School experts twice, on November 27 and January 21. They
established that he was unfit to participate in court proceedings.
Doctors from the Hague tribunal, who examined the retired general
later, reached the same conclusion.
