The president of the Croatian Returnees' Association (ZPH), Josip
Kompanovic, said police had some ten days ago hushed the
Svajcarnica incident, stating that this was an event which reminded
of events in 1991.
"Those who cannot accept the fact that they remained to live in
Croatia do not belong in Croatia and it is best for them to leave
peacefully, because they might lead to tragic incidents with their
conduct," Kompanovic said.
Commenting on today's verdicts to members of the so-called Gospic
Group, Kompanovic said that the ruling was an "absurd decision"
which "undercuts the defence and liberation war which was imposed
on us".
He stressed that there was no case in history in which the victors
answered to criminal charges for liberating their occupied areas.
