According to some media reports, the ICTY has requested documents
on the transfer of funds from the PBZ to Hercegovacka Bank in the
period from July 1994 to 1997, in relation to the financial
assistance to Bosnian Croats and the financing of the self-
proclaimed Croat entity, Herceg-Bosna, and the Croat Defence
Council (HVO).
Mesic said that the tribunal was interested in events in the bank,
transactions and anything that might provide certain information.
Croatia will provide this and there is no misunderstanding here,
Mesic told reporters during his visit to the Croatian National
Bank.
The PBZ allegedly failed to comply with a government request to
provide any documents, referring to the confidentiality of such
information.
"If the issue is crimes and if proceedings are initiated against
certain or unknown persons, then it is not possible to refer to
confidentiality," said Mesic.
In April 2001, SFOR troops entered the Hercegovacka Bank
headquarters in Mostar and confiscated computer discs with bank
data.
