The two confirmed good bilateral relations and voiced hope that it
would intensify both in politics and economy.
Lindh said Sweden fully supported reforms in Croatia, as well as its
candidacy for EU membership. In this context, she underlined the
necessity of cooperation with the international war crimes
tribunal and a swift solution to issues of return of displaced
persons and refugees, as well as the reconstruction of homes and
revival of economy in the return areas, said the statement.
The same stances were voiced during a meeting between Lindh and
Prime Minister Ivica Racan.
Racan's office said that the prime minister had stated that Croatia
intended to fulfil all obligations from the Stabilisation and
Association Agreement with the EU, and added that 65% of these
commitments had been fulfilled.
