Pristina on Sunday. #L#
The two-day event was organised by the Kosovo Institute for Euro-
Atlantic Integration and pooled government representatives from
Croatia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Albania, and Kosovo.
Participants agreed to hold a similar conference once again, most
probably in Croatia.
The second day of the conference, representatives of Albania,
Macedonia, and Kosovo spoke about their efforts to adjust their
legislation with the EU.
The president of the Kosovo Institute for Euro-Atlantic
Integration, Blerim Reka, said the conference had been a success.
He announced talks between delegations of the European Commission
and the Kosovo government about a new so-called Kosovo-EU mechanism
for March 13.
"We hope it will be a good start of Kosovo's gradual approach to the
European Union."
He said Kosovo legislation was being adjusted with EU standards
from the start as all drafts were the result of joint work between
the Kosovars and experts of the EU and the United States Agency for
International Development.
