ZAGREB ARCHBISHOP RETURNS FROM SOUTH AMERICA ZAGREB, March 3 (Hina) - Zagreb's Archbishop and the president of the Croatian Bishops' Conference, Josip Bozanic, returned to Zagreb from Latin America on Monday where he visited Croats in
Peru. In Columbia, the Archbishop participated in a joint synod of the Council of Bishops' Conferences of America and Europe in his role as the vice president of the Council of European Bishops' Conferences.
ZAGREB, March 3 (Hina) - Zagreb's Archbishop and the president of
the Croatian Bishops' Conference, Josip Bozanic, returned to
Zagreb from Latin America on Monday where he visited Croats in Peru.
In Columbia, the Archbishop participated in a joint synod of the
Council of Bishops' Conferences of America and Europe in his role as
the vice president of the Council of European Bishops' Conferences.

This was the first inter-continent encounter of the Councils of
Bishops' Conferences of Europe and Latin America and was held
between February 24 to 28 in Medellin and Bogota. The meeting
presented a "panoramic review of the status of the Catholic Church
in Latin America", Zagreb's Archbishop said upon his arrival at
Zagreb's airport.
According to Bozanic, there was talk about the political situation
in the world and the latest events relating the Iraqi crisis as well
as the Holy Father's advocacy and that of representatives of the
Catholic Church of a peaceful solution to the conflict.
