"WAZ regards this event as a criminal attack on the media freedoms
and on the biggest publisher in Croatia," reads the statement
signed by the WAZ president and director, Erich Schumann and Bodo
Hombach respectively.
It noted that "organised crime is evidently on the offensive
against Croatian independent papers".
Zagreb police reported that Pavic's car of the mercedes type burned
down in the explosion at 4.00 am Saturday.
A police investigation is under way.
