ZAGREB, Feb 21 (Hina) - The Croatian National Bank (HNB) on Friday intervened in the foreign currency market by selling commercial banks 49.4 million euros at an auction at the mean exchange rate of 7.613704 kuna per one euro, the HNB
reported.

intervened in the foreign currency market by selling commercial
banks 49.4 million euros at an auction at the mean exchange rate of

The auction was held after the mean exchange rate of the euro
yesterday reached its highest level since the introduction of the
single EU currency on January 1, 2002.
According to yesterday's HNB exchange rate, the mean exchange rate
of the euro was 7.600517 kuna. On Friday the euro increased slightly
more, by 0.02 percent, to 7.602404 kuna.
