ZAGREB, Feb 20 (Hina) - The Croatian government will grant a total of 1.2 million kuna to Janica and Ivica Kostelic -- gold medalists from the last world championships in Alpine skiing -- and their coaches and other staff in their
team. Under the government's decision, Janica Kostelic, who won gold medals in the slalom and combined event at the championships in St. Moritz, will be awarded by 240,000 kuna (approximately 31,600 euros) and her brother Ivica, who won the men's slalom race in Switzerland will get 120,000 (EUR15,800). The rest of the award will shared by other members in their team. On Thursday, Premier Ivica Racan announced that draft provisions regulating criteria for awards for Croatian athletes' successes at Olympic Games and world and European championships would be discussed at the next government session.(1EUR = 7.6 kuna)
