According to a statement released by the government's press office,
Granic informed the OSCE delegation (Organisation for Security and
Cooperation in Europe) about the constitutional law on ethnic
minorities, pointing to the importance of the law as a mechanism for
the organisation of elections for minorities' self-rule. He also
spoke about the return of refugees and displaced persons and the
Ivica Racan Cabinet's efforts to remove all the obstacles in that
process.
Suessmuth, who was the German parliament's chairwoman, expressed
satisfaction with the meeting and Zagreb's views.
Present at the meeting were the head of the OSCE mission in Croatia,
Peter Semneby, and the head of the Croatian government's office for
cooperation with international institutions, Tomislav Vidosevic.
The OSCE delegation, that is on a two-day visit to Croatia, earlier
in the day met with Sabor President Zlatko Tomcic and other
representatives of the parliament.
