PRISTINA, Feb 3 (Hina) - The international trial chamber of the Orahovac municipal court on Monday sentenced Kosovo Serb Andjelko Kolasinac to eight years in prison for war crimes.

In 2002, Kolasinac was given a five year sentence, but the Kosovo
Supreme Court decided on the repetition of the trial which then
began last October.
Kolasinac was found guilty for war crimes against Albanian
civilians in 1998 and 1999, when he performed the duty of president
of the Orahovac municipality and local civil defence commander.
The trial chamber assessed that Kolasinac had played a role in the
persecution of hundreds of Albanians from Orahovac, as well as in
the looting and murders which had been committed during the
persecution of civilians.
