ZAGREB, Feb 3 (Hina) - The Croatian Doctors' Union (HLS) on Monday issued information about the salaries of physicians to warn about the status of the profession and shed light on a lack of clarity concerning the salaries.

The basic monthly net salary without duty hours, stand-by and
overtime for an intern, unmarried and living in Zagreb, amounts to
2,915 kuna. A doctor with a year of experience has a 4,650 kuna
salary, while a specialist with five working years earns 5,100 kuna
per month, the HLS said in a press release.
A specialist with 20 years of service earns 6,130 kuna, a specialist
with 25 years of service 6,400 kuna, and with 40 years of service
6,800 kuna. The price of a doctor's work per hour is 25 to 35 kuna.
The average Croatian salary for last November was 3,766 kuna, while
living expenses for last year amounted to 7,088 kuna, which means
that a general practitioner earns a 1.33 average salary. A
specialist earns a 1.55 average salary.
At the same time, a magistrate earns 2.41 average salaries, while a
county court judge makes 3.53 average salaries per month, the HLS
said.
