Lozancic took an oath during a session of the federal parliament's
House of Peoples, even though this body did not endorse the proposal
for his nomination which the House of Representatives did earlier.
Lozancic did not receive support from the Serb MPs, while Croat and
Bosniak MPs voted for him.
The Bosnian Federation's Constitution stipulates that the final
decision on the election of the entity's president and his deputies
will be made by the lower house if the House of Peoples refuses to
endorse the candidate twice, which was the case here.
Vice-presidents Sahbaz Dzihanovic from the Party for Bosnia-
Herzegovina and Desnica Radivojevic as a representative of the Serb
people -- although a candidate of the Bosniak Party of Democratic
Action -- took oaths along with Lozancic.
