ZAGREB, Jan 23 (Hina) - The technical failure at the Tumbri

"According to available information, the damage totals around half
a million kuna, however, the exact amount will be established in
cooperation with Power Industry (HEP) experts," police official
Davor Tor said, dismissing the possibility that the power cut was
caused by an act of sabotage.
Police have established that the technical failure caused the
bursting of a chamber of a 110-kW switch at the Tumbri transformer
station, some 30 kilometres south of Zagreb. The chamber then fell
off its metal structure, causing the snapping of conductors
resulting in the power cut, Tor said, adding that the failure should
be removed by tomorrow.
Since the transformer station supplies the whole of north-west
Croatia with electricity, the failure left the City of Zagreb and
the country's ten north-western counties without electricity.
