ZAGREB, Jan 8 (Hina) - Retail prices, including seasonal products, in Croatia in December were on average 0.1 percent higher than the preceding month, while living costs grew by 0.4 percent, the Central Bureau of Statistics said on
Wednesday.

Compared to December 2001, retail prices last month increased by
2.3 percent, while the annual average in 2002 was 2.2 percent higher
than that of the year before.
That is also the lowest annual inflation rate since 1995. According
to central bank data, the inflation rate at the end of 2001 was 2.6
percent as against the year 2000 when it was 7.4 percent.
Low rates were recorded also with regard to the costs of living. The
prices of goods and services for personal consumption last December
were 1.8 percent higher than in December 2001, while the annual
average last year was 1.9 percent higher than the year before.
