A state secretary at the Foreign Ministry, Hidajet Biscevic, said that the bill was expected to provide for the coordinated work of the government's departments fighting terrorism, organised crime and money laundering, and regulate the protection of archive materials and control of movement of foreign nationals.
Commenting on the request of some opposition clubs of deputies to discuss and adopt the bill under regular procedure, Biscevic said that the bill had to be discussed under urgent procedure because it adjusted domestic legislation to EU standards.
Ivo Josipovic of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) club of deputies requested two readings of the bill and warned that the bill did not envisage legal remedy for physical persons against whom a measure is adopted, which he believes is problematic in terms of constitutional rights.
