Experts of EuroTest, an international association of a dozen European automobile clubs spearheaded by German automobile club ADAC, inspected 77 motorway filling stations using a checklist from 15 November 2011 to 5 January this year. Filling stations along the most important European travel routes in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Slovenia and the Czech Republic four petrol stations in Croatia were tested according to principles of mystery shopping.
The top five filling stations include two stations in the Czech Republic, two in Slovenia and the "Desinec 2" in Croatia, which is run by the Petrol company and is located at the A1 motorway's section between Jastrebarsko and Donja Zdencina, southwest of Zagreb.
They deserved top rankings thanks to well-equipped sanitary facilities, a variety of goods in shops and good prices, the deputy head of the EuroTest Croatia, Igor Novacic said on Tuesday.
EuroTest rated the stations on a scale from very poor to very good: 23 were good, 48 acceptable and six poor, although none were very poor.
"Dobra (West)" station managed by the Tifon company on the Bosiljeva-Ogulin motorway section of A1 motorway and the INA station at the Rugvica-Ivanic Grad section of A3 motorway, east of Zagreb were ranked among those 23 good stations, too.
EuroTest experts, who have inspected motorway filling stations along the most important European travel routes, found that there was "considerable room for improvement".
