PODGORICA, Nov 24 (Hina) - Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic
is certain that the discussion at Tuesday's session of the UN Security Council
on south-eastern European countries' cooperation with the UN war crimes
tribunal will not result in sanctions being imposed either on Serbia or
Montenegro, and that criticisms in Chief Prosecutor Carla del Ponte's report do
not refer to Montenegro."I do not expect any consequences for Montenegro. Even if the Security
Council opts for punishment for the insufficient cooperation of the state union
of Serbia-Montenegro with the Tribunal, I am absolutely confident that there
are mechanisms to exempt Montenegro, which serves as a positive example, from
any consequences," Djukanovic on Tuesday told reporters in Bijelo Polje, while
commenting on Del Ponte's report to the Security Council.
He added that Montenegro had so far fulfilled all obligations towards
the Hague tribunal.
Djukanovic believes that Serbia and Montenegro should be given another
chance and some more time to achieve better results in the cooperation with the
UN court.
